What is a Family Nurse Practitioner?

Nurse Practitioners are qualified medical providers who offer a wide range of servies, including the diagnosis and treatment of common as well as more complex medical conditions.  Family Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses with advanced medical education and clinical training in primary care for people of all ages, from infants and pediatric through adults.  Our NPs have national certification in Family Practice.  They work autonomously and also with our physicians to provide you with comprehensive and high quality health care.

What is a Family Physician?

A family physician is a physician dedicated to treating the whole person, all genders and ages. The family physician focuses on a long term relationship with each patient to better be able to understand how to prevent and treat health problems for that individual. After completing medical school, family physicians complete a three year residency program in Family Medicine that covers medical areas for all ages from infants and pediatrics to geriatrics, acute care, managment of chronic disease, as well as preventive care.

Capital Family Practice is a full scope Family Medicine practice. We see patients of all ages from newbowns, pediatric, adolescent, young adult and geriatric.

We often take care of several generations within one family. This gives us the unique ability to fully understand and treat every aspect of an individual.

 

Specifically for our pediatric patients we preform all well care, including routine immunizations; acute illness, minor injury evaluation, and paperwork for daycare, school entrance, sports participation, and college entrance.

 

We offer same day appointments for quick and timely evaluation of illness and urgent care needs.
